Prof. Gileard Masenga

Current Role: Executive Director of (KCMC)

Since graduating from KCMC University, Prof. Gileard Masenga has applied the knowledge and values gained from his academic journey every day in his professional life. Now serving as the Executive Director of KCMC, he continues to make a meaningful impact in the fields of education and professional development.

Dr. Elichilia Robert Shao

Current Role: Senior Lecturer at KCMC University and Physician with Subspecialty in Medical Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Biology

Since graduating from KCMC University, Dr. Elichilia R. Shao has applied the knowledge gained from his medical studies to become a leading figure in the field of medical microbiology and immunology. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at KCMC University, where he teaches and supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

“KCMC University equipped me with the essential skills to pursue a career in infectious diseases. The academic foundation I received helped me grow into a physician dedicated to research and medical education.”

Dr. Elichilia specializes in virology, particularly HIV, Hepatitis B & C, COVID-19, and Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever. In addition, he is deeply invested in preventive medicine and has contributed significantly to the medical field with over 45 published manuscripts in indexed journals. He has also written more than 10 books on medical education aimed at the general population, demonstrating his dedication to both research and medical outreach.

Dr. Jeremia J. Pyuza

Current Role: Medical Doctor & PhD Candidate at Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC)

Since graduating from KCMC University, Jeremia J. Pyuza has applied the knowledge and skills gained from his academic journey in various roles. He currently serves as a Medical Doctor at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) and is pursuing his PhD at Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) in the Netherlands. 

“KCMC University provided me with a solid foundation in both medicine and healthcare management. The knowledge I gained has equipped me to contribute significantly to public health research, especially in the areas of vaccinology and immunopathology.”

Through his research on vaccine responses and immunopathology, Jeremia is committed to advancing public health and contributing to the fight against parasitic infections. His academic journey reflects his passion for medicine and his drive to make a meaningful impact in healthcare worldwide.

Dr. Debora Kajeguka

Current Role: Director of Continuous Studies at KCMC University.

Since graduating from KCMC University, Debora Kajeguka has applied the knowledge and skills gained during her studies to advance in her career. She currently serves as the Director of Continuous Studies at KCMC University, where she oversees the development and implementation of educational programs for lifelong learning.
