KCMC University successfully conducted an induction workshop for its council members on 23rd – 34th September 2025 at Salinero Hotel. The workshop brought together senior leaders, council members, and representatives to strengthen knowledge on governance, leadership, and emerging trends in higher education.
The workshop began at 9:00 a.m. and was graced by the Executive Secretary of the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU), Prof. Charles Kihampa, accompanied by two TCU officers.

Opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Lughano J. Kusiluka, Chairman of the KCMC University Council, who emphasized the importance of understanding the roles and responsibilities of council members in ensuring effective university governance.
Prof. Ephata Kaaya, Vice Chancellor of KCMC University, provided a comprehensive overview of the university, covering governance and administration, academic teaching and learning, ICT development, and innovations to enhance internet use for education.

University Governance – roles and functions of the council, boards, senates, and other standing organs Legal and Regulatory Environment in universities.
Quality Assurance in Tanzanian universities – delivered by Prof. Charles Kihampa
Emerging Issues in Higher Education and their implications for universities The workshop provided council members with practical knowledge to guide effective decision-making and strengthen university governance.
