The program provides in-depth knowledge and skills in areas such as histopathology, cytopathology, and autopsy pathology. Graduates of this program will be equipped to work in various healthcare settings, contributing significantly to diagnostic medicine, clinical research, and academia.
Upon completion of the MMed in Anatomic Pathology programme, graduates will be equipped with advanced knowledge and clinical expertise required for specialized diagnostic and therapeutic practice in pathology. In alignment with the general MMed program goals, graduates will be able to:
Implement all legal and ethical requirements in the contemporary practice of medicine.
Manage all aspects of patient care, including adverse outcomes, as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of health service management principles and effectively integrate them into clinical practice.
Formulate research hypotheses, design experimental studies, and conduct research following scientific and ethical standards.
Critically evaluate the role of molecular and cellular biology in the aetiology of diseases [translational medicine strand].
Appraise the role and potential importance of molecular techniques/approaches in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases [translational medicine strand].
Discuss the role of the physician in the primary and secondary prevention of diseases at the population level.
Critically appraise research data and effectively write research reports.
Evaluate key global health concepts and examine the challenges impacting health systems and health outcomes on a global scale [population health and health implementation strand].
