Dr Sweetness Laizer is a medical doctor and clinical researcher who works within the department of epidemiology and biostatistics as an assistant lecturer and is currently pursuing her PhD at Radboud University Medical Center (Radboudumc) Graduate School in the Netherlands.
Her research interests include tuberculosis and diabetes comorbidity, maternal and reproductive health, mental health, and clinical trial operations. She currently serves as a Clinical Trial Coordinator at the Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute (KCRI), where she coordinates multiple clinical trials focusing on Tuberculosis, Diabetes, and Sickle cell disease.
Dr. Laizer is passionate about improving the prevention and management of infectious and non-communicable diseases through clinical research, implementation science, and evidence-based interventions. She is particularly committed to strengthening clinical research capacity in Tanzania and generating locally relevant evidence to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
