Welcome to the Department of Community Medicine. Our work begins in the communities where health is truly determined. We are dedicated to understanding and improving the conditions that shape population health, with a strong focus on prevention, nutrition, and community-engaged research. Our mission is to produce locally relevant evidence that addresses global health challenges. Our faculty lead and contribute to studies in child and reproductive health, nutrition, non-communicable and infectious diseases, and the social dimensions of health, supported by partnerships with leading national and international funders. | Eligibility | A recognised bachelor’s degree (UQF Level 8) or equivalent in a health or health-related field, including Medicine, Dentistry, Laboratory Sciences, Pharmacy, Environmental Health, Nursing, Sociology, Anthropology, Biostatistics, Demography, Food Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Epidemiology, Health Information Sciences, or Law, with a minimum GPA of 2.7 (B average). Applicants with a relevant Postgraduate Diploma must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (B average). |

| Programme Structure | 540 credits of experiential, research- and publication-based learning, including a minimum of three publications in two or more peer-reviewed journals. |
| Mode of Study | On-campus, supervisor-guided research (no formal classroom coursework). Learning includes research supervision, seminars, workshops, conferences, and work-based teaching. |
