Prof. Michael Burke (PhD) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, the Department of Behavioural Science and the Department of Community Medicine at KCMC University. He is conducting teaching activities, clinical work and supervising Masters and PhD students.

Prof. Burke has worked extensively with church hospitals and PLWHIV programs in Tanzania and was the national health officer of the Anglican Church of Tanzania. His special interests now include geriatric medicine, family medicine and noncommunicable diseases.
Prof. Burke’s work in Australia involved work at Western Sydney University and at Sydney University and primary level health care with marginalised communities including those with blood born viruses, and people with addictions.

Prof. Burke’s research has been in the areas of HIV/AIDs, sexual health, blood born viruses and noncommunicable diseases. He has expertise in mixed methods approaches. See links below for his peer reviewed articles and book chapters.
