She is committed to strengthening rehabilitation services, advancing academic excellence, and improving equitable access to assistive technology in Tanzania and Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Kombe holds a PhD in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Salford, the first in Tanzania. Her doctoral research, titled “A Mixed Methods Study to Understand Access to Prosthetic and Orthotic Services in Tanzania”, employed a rigorous multi-phase design integrating qualitative meta-synthesis, secondary quantitative analysis, and in-depth stakeholder interviews.
