Dr. Jean is a senior lecturer in the Department of Community Medicine and the Department of Behavioural Science at KCMC University. She is conducting teaching activities and supervising Masters and PhD students.

Diversity of Experiences

Dr. Jean has worked extensively with AIDS Control programs in Central Tanzania, especially with people living with HIV, community education, and program and curricula evaluations.
Jean’s work in Australia involved community and settlement services work with migrants, refugees and asylum seekers, lecturing, curriculum development and research in the Univeristy of New South Wales and the Australian Catholic University.

Dr. Jean’s research has been in the areas of infant feeding, HIV/AIDs in Tanzania, social work in Africa, albinism, disability, colourism, media analysis, language services, translation and Swahili use amongst the African diaspora.
