KCMC University, in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen and the University of Ghana, is pleased to invite applications for the Innovation Course 2026, offered under the UPIVAC Africa Project with support from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Danida Fellowship Centre (DFC).
 
Are you curious about innovation, problem-solving, and creating positive change in education
and healthcare?

This interactive three-day course offers a unique opportunity to develop practical
innovation skills, work with colleagues from different disciplines, and gain new perspectives on
creative thinking and entrepreneurship.

  • Students

No previous experience in innovation is required. Whether you are completely new to innovation or have attended previous innovation courses, you are welcome to apply. 

Important: Participants must be available to attend full-time all three days of the course.
If you have participated in earlier innovation courses, we encourage you to apply again. The
course has been designed to ensure that both new and returning participants gain valuable
insights, develop new skills, and expand their innovation toolkit.


What Will You Learn?
This highly interactive course will help you:

  • Develop an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset
  •  Strengthen your collaborative and creative problem-solving skills
  •  Explore the principles of innovation, design thinking, and entrepreneurship
  •  Learn through hands-on, case-based experiences
  •  Work in interdisciplinary teams with participants from diverse backgrounds
  • Build practical tools that can be applied in your studies, teaching, research, or professional work

Through collaboration and real-world challenges, participants will experience how innovation
can be used to create meaningful solutions and drive positive change.


Facilitators
The course will be led by Lone Sillesen and Pernille Koelbaek from Denmark, two experienced
innovation educators and practitioners who are passionate about helping others develop
innovative mindsets and approaches.
Collaborators in relation to this innovation course will include faculty and experts from:

  • University of Copenhagen
  •  Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology
  •  KCMC University
  •  University of Ghana

Course Dates: 12–14 August 2026
