About the ICT Office
The ICT Office at KCMC University, under the leadership of the Director of ICT, plays a central role in planning, managing, and securing the University’s digital infrastructure. The Office is responsible for delivering reliable and innovative technology services that support teaching, learning, research, and administrative operations across the institution.
Our goal is to establish and maintain a modern, secure, and accessible digital environment that aligns with national and international standards for academic excellence, institutional governance, and data protection.
Working closely with University leadership, academic departments, and administrative units, the ICT Office provides a broad range of core services, including reliable internet connectivity, learning management platforms, institutional email systems, and end-user ICT support. In addition to operational services, the ICT Office offers strategic ICT leadership and advisory services, guiding the integration of technology into academic delivery, research innovation, and institutional processes.
Leadership and Governance
The ICT Office is led by the Director of ICT, who provides strategic direction, policy oversight, and overall leadership of the University’s ICT function. The ICT In-Charge supports the Director by coordinating day-to-day operations and supervising all ICT units to ensure efficient service delivery and system sustainability.
ICT Units
The ICT Office operates through the following specialized units:
E-Learning (LMS) Unit
Oversees learning management systems and digital teaching tools that support blended and online education.
IT Unit
Provides user support services, system installations, ICT asset management, and technical support for offices, laboratories, and teaching spaces.
Web Services Unit
Manages the University’s websites, web applications, and institutional email systems.
Hardware Unit
Manages and maintains ICT hardware resources including computers, printers, copiers, projectors, and power backup equipment.
Networking Unit
Responsible for network infrastructure, internet connectivity, teleconferencing services, network monitoring, security, and bandwidth management.
Software & Systems Unit
Oversees server administration, ICT risk management, antivirus and endpoint security systems, and security camera (CCTV) services.
