Fully-Funded UK Master's Degrees for Tanzania's Emerging Leaders

“Learn in the UK, lead at home, shape the world.”

Chevening is the UK Government’s flagship international scholarships programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organizations. It offers exceptional emerging leaders from over 160 eligible countries and territories which includes Tanzania with the opportunity to pursue a fully-funded, one-year taught master’s degree at any UK University.

KCMC University staff, alumni and students are strongly encouraged to explore this opportunity and begin preparing early.

WHAT THE SCHOLARSHIP COVERS

• Payment of university tuition fees.
• A monthly personal living allowance (stipend) for accommodation and living costs.
• Economy returns airfare to and from the UK.
• An arrival allowance and a departure allowance.
• Cost of your UK visa (entry clearance) application.
• A travel top-up allowance and access to Chevening’s professional networking
programme.

KEY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Be a citizen of Tanzania or another Chevening-eligible country/territory.
• Have at least 2 years (2,800 hours) work experience gained after your first degree.
• Hold an undergraduate degree that qualifies you for a UK master’s programme,
completed at least 2 years before the application deadline.
• Commit to returning to Tanzania (or your country of award) for at least 2 years after
the scholarship ends.
• Apply to 3 different eligible UK University courses and secure an unconditional offer
from at least one.
• Not be a UK/dual-UK citizen and not currently resident in the UK.

  • Research and shortlist one-year UK master's courses aligned to your career goals
  • Prepare your CV, references, and answers to the four Chevening essay questions
    (leadership, networking, career plan, and study choice) well before applications open
  • Apply online directly through the official Chevening portal – applications are free and
    Chevening never charges a fee

Note:

There is no upper age limit, and holding a master's degree already does not disqualify you from applying for another.
